Defended Prominent Physician Targeted for Indictment by DOJ in Multimillion Dollar Billing Fraud Case

• Defended prominent physician targeted for indictment by DOJ for multimillion-dollar billing fraud over years of spinal decompression treatments including inversion therapy techniques not yet approved for payment under CMS billing rules; although evidence showed physician had been previously warned of systematic billing violations by his own consultant, we developed evidence to show viability of alternative coding for treatments and confusion in CPS coding standards, evidence then presented to DOJ prior to Grand Jury action.
